A short hop over the English Channel, Southampton is a beautiful, cultured city in southern England. From a small Middle Ages fishing settlement to a thriving port town, Southampton has grown and developed over centuries. Many consider it one of the cities to visit in southern England. The other two beaches are busy commercial beaches that are easily accessible from the central areas of Southampton. In the centre of the town you will find a new theatre, the New Theatre, which is set to open next year.

The heart of the city centre is the Port Southampton pier. Here you can board a ferry that goes to London and then take a trip around the world. If you prefer you can just visit the Old Hall, a historic building dating back to the thirteenth century. The Maritime Museum at the end of Port Southampton pier houses a fascinating collection of maritime artifacts. It’s also worth taking a walk along the River Stour to explore the wharfs and catamarans.

Southampton is a vibrant city with a lot to offer visitors. It’s home to some wonderful residential areas, some of the country’s most famous public parks and it’s just natural to spend a day relaxing and enjoying the surroundings.
